Happy New Year to all of you. I don’t know where 2012 has gone. The last thing I remember it was August and now we have a brand new year ahead of us. Darlene Borowski did such a wonderful job of President last year - she deserves a huge round of applause. Thank you Darlene from all the Ladies for a very successful year and always having a smile on your face even though you went through some tough family times. I appreciated your council during the last year as well.
I would like to thank Past Presidents Joyce Houston and Faye Hooper for the great job they did in installing the Officers at our January 21st meeting. They installed Vice-President – Cathy Kabernick, Treasurer – Vera Malczewski, Secretary – Hope Rosenbaum, and Membership – Carolyn Haslewood. I am so glad you Ladies accepted these positions and are keeping up your efforts for our great organization. Cathy, Vera and Carolyn have been around for a few years so hopefully they can impart enough wisdom to keep the newcomers "Hope and I" out of trouble !! January 1st Anne Simpson and I attended the Lieutenant Governors Levee at the Parliament Building on behalf of Darlene and were introduced to him and his wife. We enjoyed the entertainment after in the entranceway along with many other people who attended. They had sleigh rides outside and it seemed everyone had a nice time. The activities are open to the general public so keep that in mind for next year. January 12th I attended the Masonic Family Meeting at MMC. I think it’s important to keep our connection with the other concordant bodies and hopefully we can support one another. Not many other jurisdictions have the good relationship that we have developed over the past few years. Our next meeting is February 4th at the Rehab Centre so hopefully you will be able to come out and enjoy our Guest Speaker. Check out our Newsletter and Calendar for other activities coming up.
